What does Orisha's automation system control?
Roll-up sides, ridge vents, exhaust fans and louvers, irrigation, and heaters, plus a wind sensor for storm protection. It is one system tying ventilation, irrigation, and heat together instead of running them off separate controls.
How does the Orisha system work?
Two pieces of hardware. Orisha calls them the Brain and the Sensor. The Sensor reads temperature and humidity and reports in every 30 seconds; the Brain takes that data and drives your equipment accordingly.
What's the difference between Helper and Chief Grower?
Helper automates climate and ventilation through your roll-up sides, for $130 a month per tunnel. Chief Grower adds irrigation and heating automation on top of that for $220 a month per tunnel, so climate, water, and heat all run off one system.
Who is Orisha Automation?
Orisha is a Quebec-based company that has been building greenhouse and high tunnel automation since 2018, with Guillaume Lambert named as one of its founders. Trade press has described the company's approach as software growers can run from a phone or a computer.
