  • Description

1" neoprene bonded washers seal the screw holes when you fasten polycarbonate panels to framing. The bonded neoprene compresses against the panel as the screw drives home, keeping the hole watertight while the panel is still free to expand and contract. Each bag holds 100.

Use them with #12 x 1.5" self-tapping screws, one washer per screw, to secure the sheet to your structure. Drill the panel holes slightly oversized so the sheet can move, then drive each screw just until the washer seats flat against the panel and stop there. Going further dimples the sheet and can cause leaks. It's a small part, but skipping it or overtightening is a common cause of leaks at the fasteners.

These 1" neoprene bonded washers seal the screw holes when you fasten polycarbonate panels to your framing. Each washer pairs with a self-tapping screw: the bonded neoprene compresses against the panel as the screw drives home, sealing the hole watertight while the panel is still free to expand and contract. The bag holds 100, enough for a full panel job.

Use them with #12 x 1.5" self-tapping screws to secure the sheet to framing. The key is to not overtighten: drive each screw just until the washer seats flat against the panel, and stop there. Going past that point dimples the sheet and can cause leaks over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are neoprene bonded washers used for?

A: They seal the screw holes when you fasten polycarbonate panels to framing. The bonded neoprene compresses under the screw head to keep the hole watertight, while the panel stays free to expand and contract with temperature.

Q: What screws do I use with these washers?

A: Pair them with #12 x 1.5" self-tapping screws, one washer per screw. Drill the panel holes slightly oversized so the sheet can move, and keep your fasteners back from the panel edge.

Q: How tight should I drive the screws?

A: Just until the washer seats flat against the panel surface, then stop. Driving past that point dimples the sheet below the surface and can lead to leaks over time.
